Spider Web Castle, Kumonosu-jô

Inspired by the gorgeous palaces of Japan, and their temples and shrines, we take you on a tour of a Massive Fantasy Place like no other.

Fun Facts:
♦ "Torii" (pictured above) while being a gate signifying the entrance to shrines, also means "birds reside here". Birds are a traditional symbol of good harvest. Some torii have bird statuettes and symbols attached to them.
♦ "Ronin" is the title given to masterless samurai. While romanticized in legend, ronin in medieval Japan were often the subject of ridicule and disgrace.
♦ Did you know that the "Yojimbo" badge (that can be obtained by defeating 100 Samoorai) means "bodyguard" in Japanese? And that it is also title of Akira Kurosawa's 1961 film about a wandering ronin?
♦ Did you know "Moo shu" is actually a pork dish from northern China?
♦ Samurai traditionally wear two swords. One "long" sword for fighting, and one "short" sword for use in ritual suicide.

There is closed captioning for the hearing impaired wizards.

Title credits go to the film Kumonosu-jô (English title is Throne of Blood) Akira Kurosawa's interprutation of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
