It's Thriller Time

Well Halloween is upon us. A time when two of the scariest monsters roam the streets. Ghosts and Candy-Hungry-Small-Children. Terrifying! If you're like me and you're too old, or just too cool, to face the night, why not stay in and get spooked instead? I love mysteries, and thrillers, so I take the time every Halloween to get jumpy and watch some of my favorite spooky movies. I humbly submit a list of good movies to get you in the Halloween mood.
  • The Black Cat
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Sherlock Holmes: the Spider Woman
  • Arsenic and Old Lace
  • Charade
  • Hitchcock, any Hitchcock (some of my favorites are, North by Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much, The 39 Steps, Rear Window, Strangers on a Train, and Notorious.)
  • A good classic Film Noir (Key Largo, The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, any Bogart and Bacall would do nicely.)
  • Murder on the Orient Express
  • Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein
Disclaimer: While all these movies are generally "age appropriate", they are designed for more sophisticated audience. (With the exception of Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.) What I'm trying to get at is if you have over-protective parents, which some of you do there's no shame in it, check with them first. Get it? Got it. Good.

Whatever you're doing this Halloween, have a (safe!) fun time! I hope you all get loads of loot. :)

"Gulb-gulb GUBBITY!"

(Celestian for Welcome to Celestia! (No not Heather is a smart alec.))

Unless you have been living under some rock or a pile of homework, you probably know that Celestia has finally come to the spiral! The crowd goes wild!
I know that I am probably not alone in saying that Celestia really confuses me.
Oh well I'm sure I'll figure it out. Oh hey before I forget go pick up a Seastar (or Starfish as it's called in game) pet! They've got some loverly talents for under 20,000 gold. Check out the Petnome page!

Hello Goodbye

Well kids this is the last time to "save the princess". Miss Selena is leaving the spiral.
I ran my final wizard through the quest, Darby. Ah the last time we shall see Miss Selena dancing.
...WOOHOO! Okay maybe that's a bit harsh, but Celestia is coming! And it's only coming after she leaves, so... See ya Selena!
Speaking of Celestia, I hear it's coming out tomorrow. Everyone keeps asking if I'm getting ready when I see them on the live realm. Eh, not really. I'm just going to go with the flow and ask the clever people a lot of questions. ;) Also,
I AM NOT GOING TO JUMP RIGHT ON THE LIVE REALM WHEN IT FIRST COMES OUT! I lost my Teddy that way. I'm not doing it again. I advise you to do the same. 'Cause you know what they say, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
Okay little rant is over. Besides that I can't wait for Celestia! :) The pets there are out of this world. Hehehe.

Double Wide

Hi everyone!

This is just a quick update in the continuing quest for the new Double Wide giftcard from Gamestop.
After class today I went to my local gamestop, the one I knew had Wizard101 gift cards, and while they had the old ones, they didn't have the new spiffy $40 ones. (It's funny because the dude in the store knew exactly what I was talking about, I didn't even have to finish my sentence! He even said they had got a couple calls about them. I didn't know there were so many Wizard101 fans in my local!) The clerk checked the shipping logs, and they haven't even had any shipped to them as yet. Then he checked the bigger log thingy and said that there weren't any available in the Country yet. Aw. But I heard from one of the #twizards that she called her store and they had them but hadn't unpacked them yet. So... *shrug* I think if you're hoping to go pick up one this weekend it probably ain't gonna happen. *sigh*. Oh well. I will have to check in later. I will tell you all as soon as I get mine! :)

things I'd like to see 2

I've been watching this show lately, it's called The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and it's a spy show from the 1960s, the best kind. The main characters in the show have the best names. Ever. Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin.
Which brings me to the next thing I'd like to see in Wizard101.
New names.

Best. Name. Ever.
I really like all the names we have right now, and I really like the fact that you can have the name you like even if it's been used by someone before.
I just would like some more! (They don't call me Miss More-More, for nothing!)
Really I think the first name section needs a bit of work. Napoleon and Illya? Why not.

Okay, it's a REALLY close second.
What about Penelope, Rosemary, Regina, Estelle, Gwyneth, Joy, Nadya, Coleen, Robin, Rosaleen, Jeanette, Astra, Kit, Kay, Lark? I'm sure I could come up with a ton of boys names too.
What names would you like to see?

things I'd like to see

I'm going to start a little series of posts on things I'd like to see in Wizard101.
These aren't really predictions, just a brainstorm of ideas. :)
First off...
This one seems totally obvious to me. We already have airships, the natural next step is to dress up like an aviator! Also, what's an aviator without an airship? I want me an airship mount!
Note. Goggles. ME WANT!

The Wandering Conjurer

Okay folks, here's what you've all been waiting for, the very first part of my brand new Fan Fiction! WOOT! It's entitled "The Wandering Conjurer". Original I know. Anyway here's the first bit of the story! Enjoy! :D

***
It was late, and the dark dank air in Nightside made me feel uneasy. I groped my way through the darkness until I bumped into a wrought iron gate. “OW!” I exclaimed grabbing my nose. I rubbed it hard, and looked down at the ground. Through the fog, I could faintly see the glowing lights of a sigil. I stepped on. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one! I counted. I felt air rushing past me and a bright kaleidoscope of colors in front of my eyes, and then suddenly I was in the dungeon. Before I had oriented myself I heard an evil cackle and I was jerked into a battle with three ghosts. I fumbled around in my pockets until I found my magic deck of cards and I started flipping through them wildly.

Story time

Before I forget the Raffle winner, is....... Amber Rosepetal! Yay! Congrats, and thanks for entering everyone! I hope I can do more of this kind of stuff in the future. :)

Well I've been on a real creative writing kick recently. Yep. Then I got thinking, why haven't I wrote anything about Wizards? GASP! Well I did write that little short story the Legend of the Death Shark. But nothing really substantial. So I think I'm going to write a story about Heather... Yeah. Stay tuned folks! You'll never know what happens when I get an idea. ;)

1 Year

Well it's been a long time. One year exactly since this blog started. Wow. I remember when I was just writing this for myself! It's been a really wonderful year.

I would like to thank so people that inspire me and help me as I wander through this wonderfully wacky world of blogging, and the spiral.

Jessica FairyHeart
Kestrel Shadowthistle
Fallon Shadowblade
Kevin Battleblood
You are my life-line and inspiration. Thank you.

There are so many people who I would like to thank but if I wrote them all down it would take me several hours and a couple hankies to get through it.

But most importantly I would like to thank my followers and everyone who reads this blog. THANK YOU! You help bring me back home every time. I owe you so much.

Okay, since this is getting really sappy, I'm going to stop.
But fist, STOP! It's Raffle time!
Yup yup. What's a party without presents? Just comment on this post and you could win a wonderful pet energy elixir! Yay!

Happy Birthday Blog!
Much love,
Heather

Halloween!

WOOHOO! Halloween has come to the Spiral at LAST! :D
Well I have a huge shopping list! I did get the Witch outfit though.
I adore it!
I also made a little video of my alt Kestrel doing some of the Jack Hallow Quests.
It's not really informative, it's more of a "Just because". :)
Anyway. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Oh and I think there was something about Celestia coming out on the Test Realm? ;)

Shadow

Hi everyone! I haven't been on Wizard101 in DAYS (Ah! Withdrawal withdrawal!) and so there hasn't been much to blog about.
I did, however, manage to play the Demo for the newest Nancy Drew Adventure game.
While it wasn't my favorite demo (Trail of the Twister pwned, best demo EVER) this one was very cool and I had to share!
I know we're all waiting for Celestia and Halloween to come to the spiral, but while you're waiting try your hand and investigating a spooky old Ryokan!
You can try calligraphy... or get a little silly like me. ;)
Apparently in the full version there is a Tea Ceremony. I so want to do that!
Oh and did I mention it was haunted?

You can learn more about Shadow at the Water's Edge here. The demo is free, but it does take a while to download, so getting it started then walking away and doing your homework would be a good idea.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! I can't wait for Shadow to come out! I just ordered it!
Ahem anyways....
I will try to get on Wizard101 today and catch up.
