New Robes, and New Year

Well Kestrel said that Yakedo's robe was really pretty,

so I went and farmed for it.

Funny story, it's not a tradeable item so I got it on Victoria, and then realised that I couldn't give it to Heather. Fortunately it was auctionable so I was able to pick one up at the bazzar.

Here it is!

I really like it! Thanks for the tip Kestrel!

Then I also got Victoria's balance robe from Mr. Defiler.

I love the colors.

Now we just need to find the life style one of these robes for Kestrel and Alia.

Oh, and get ready to PAR-TAY!

Hair

I just got the Hair soundtrack from the library.

Love that song!

So I'm rockin' out to it while I'm playing Wizards, and looking at people's hair.

There's lots of fun hair you can have in Wizards.

And that's just a small selection!

I really like this sword. It reminds me of Christmas lights the way it flashes.

Hat Troubles

So I see this awesome hat on sale in the crowns shop.

"Cool!" I say, and then I look even closer,

"I can buy it with gold too! Great!"

So I get 22,000 gold.

I change it to the cheapest colors.

I press buy.

Then I get this error message.

What?!

So I say, "Okay, maybe those two colors are glitchy. I'll come back later."

I get 3,000 more gold.

I change it to a different color combo.

I press buy.

I got the same error!

Nooooooooooooooo!

Me. want. hat.

*sniffle*

(Okay now for serious, has anyone got this error before? Can I do something to fix it? Or are my dreams of having this hat I doomed?)

Fun Things

Yay! I got a Wizard101 gift card as an early Christmas gift!

Now I have an awesome Dragonblade pet!

She's a "Sneaky Piggle".

Then I got to chat with Kestrel, and see her house, which is really cool.

Then she showed me a hidden housing item location!

It's a "Framed Campsite Photo"!

Looking Back on My First Event

Well, the carol-along just ended. I did have some thoughts about it.
None of my friends came, it was just me (which was totally fine with me, it's a really busy time of the year). I think that is due to the lack of scheduling on my part, I also didn't announce it early enough I think. Then that gives people who are interested in going time to get it on their calendar.
The event itself was so-so. Half way through some crazy hooligans showed up. One person kept yelling "NO" and called me an Elvis wannabe. Um, do I look like Elvis? Then some more people came and gave us their revised versions of Jingle Bells. Needless to say those lyrics weren't too great. Then one dude started swearing, and then someone reported him, which made him swear more.
Although there was some positive feedback to the carol-along. Some people did sing a verse or two of a carol. I think the amount of typing slowed some people down, I know it did to me. I am a really slow typist. Hmmm, if I were to do this next year I would make these changes:

I would pick a date earlier in advance.

I would pick a different place, more secluded.

I would pick a better realm.

I would do something that involves less typing.

I would maybe post of list of sing able songs pre-event.

I would not sing Jingle Bells so much.

I would maybe offer a prize or have a competitive part of the event.

That's what I'd do differently. But I think that my carol-along was okay. I did have fun. I have a ton of respect for anyone who organizes these events! It really is hard work!

Why Do I blog?

Well I just read Jessica's post, and it made me stop and think, "why do I blog?". I started blogging because I love Wizard101, and I play it a lot and I wanted to share my adventures in the game. I don't want to stray from that, please tell me if I am.

Carol FOUND! Yes!

I found a carol that you can sing word for word on text chat! "Jingle bells"! Oh yeah, the carol fest idea is now probable.
Now if we were going to have one we could sing Jingle bells and say stuff like "happy holidays", "merry christmas" and "happy new year".
The question is would anyone do it?

Storage

If you're like me, you can't get rid of anything.

Not even that Short Corner Wall Ruin, that you have ten of already and totally clashes with your MB decor.

No you couldn't possiably get rid of it.

If you're like me, your bank and attic fill up pretty fast.

But there is another way to store all of your odd bits of decor.

If you have a house, you can fill up your dorm room.

And if you have mulitple houses you can fill up the one you are not using.

That sure frees up a lot of closet space!

We're having a Heat Wave

When ever I feel chilly, I just go to the Oasis and put on my Lawrence of Arabia togs, and imagine myself in the scorching heat.

I don't know how much it helps me feel warm, but it certainly improves my spirts!

(If only I had a leather jacket, I could play Indiana Jones! That would be awesome!)

Names

There are lots of names to chose from when you are naming your wizard.
I was thinking a lot about names this morning. So I breezed through the entry quiz (I always get myth! It's weird,) and looked at all of the names you could name your wizard.
Among the more common names like Katie, and John, there were a few that I found quite uncommon.
For the Gentlemen:

• Belgrim
• Dugan
• Gilroy
• Lail
• Padric

For the Ladies:

• Calamity
• Darby
• Keena
• Llewella
• Taryn

You don't often meet a Lail as your walking through the Commons!
Then there are the name combos you can get, I'm sure we've all met a Taylor Swift, or a Luke Skywalker (which was really cool and funny the first time I saw someone with that name, because I love Star Wars! But after the fourteenth billionth time, not so much,). But what about Richard LionHeart? You can have that name but I have never met a Richard LionHeart. Doesn't anybody love Robin Hood anymore?
I also wondered what the most popular names in Wizard101 were. I tried to count the repeating names in the Commons, but after the seventh person ported in and started running about, I gave up.
But I did check my friends list for repeats. Here they are:

• 3 "John"s
• 3 "Jack"s
• 2 "Wolf"s
• 2 "Cameron"s (they are very hard to tell a part because both of their last names start with "I"!)
• 2 "Blaze"s
• 2 "Jessica"s
• 2 "Edward"s

I'm not really sure how well my friends list reflects the popularity of names in the game, but I did find it interesting.
This is all very trivial, but I find it really interesting. It's food for thought.

Home for the Holidays

All the players are buzzing with the news about the new housing.

Which is very cool, the myth house rocks my world.

They are all wicked though.

Needless to say I am saving up all my gold for one.

I didn't take any test realm pictures, and there are lots flying around right now, so I thought I'd show you my current house.

More Mounts

Meet Charlie.

He's a chestnut pony.

Yep I got another mount.

I had 40,000 gold that was burning a hole in my pocket,

so I got Charlie.

Now Lola, is offically Victoria's mount.

I also wanted a horse mount because, I love horses, and so I didn't look like a Friendly copy.
